How to Enhance Your Network Printer

Written on October 25, 2009 by supervisor

If your printer is connected in a network, then there is possibility that it gets overwhelmed at times. You can enhance the performance of your network printer by upgrading its memory. This will ensure that the printer has sufficient storage capacity to spool the documents as well as their corresponding formatting data.

Normally, when a document is sent to a printer, it is temporarily held at the printer memory in a process called spooling, after which the printing process takes place. If numerous documents are sent simultaneously to a network printer with low memory capacity, then it may cause the programs to slow down, causing delay in other tasks. This can be very upsetting especially if you are working in a busy office. To ensure your printer is always ready for batch printing, find a corresponding printer memory and upgrade.

Finding a matching printer memory should not be a hassle. All you need to do is check the make of your printer and look for a memory module that is compatible. Although not all memory modules will be compatible with every printer, some like HP printer memory will be compatible with a number of printers. However, it is always good to consult a professional technician for clarification.
